5 facts about Montenegro

  1. Montenegro is the second youngest country in Europe, after having declared its independence from Serbia only in 2006. Montenegro comes packed with culture and history!

  2. Along with Finland, Montenegro is one of the greenest countries in Europe. Around 40% of Montenegro’s land coverage is made up of woods, of which half of it is under conservation.

  3. The spectacular and UNESCO World Heritage listed Bay of Kotor is often described as “the most southern fjord of Europe”. It is technically not a fjord, but stunning nonetheless.

  4. Montenegro has 117 beautiful and sometimes secluded beaches, and they still go unnoticed. Be one of few people to enjoy them!

  5. Montenegro’s capital Podgorica reports 2,480 hours of sunshine a year, it’s thus one of the sunniest capitals.
